OVERVIEW
What is Gamesquall?
Gamesquall is an annual board, card, miniature, and roleplaying game convention held in beautiful downtown Cottage Grove, Oregon -- it's a sort of "poor man's" version of Portland's Gamestorm convention. In our case, of course, we're using "convention" in its loosest possible sense. There's no scheduling system, no hotel rooms, no pool, no celebrities, no dealer's room, and no gift bags... but there's plenty of free parking and admission is only zero dollars, so we figure that helps make up for it.
If you'd like to attend, just show up at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Cottage Grove just about any time between noon on December 31st and two in the morning on January 1st. You can play games from the extensive Gamesquall library, or you can bring your own games to share with the group (the more the merrier!). Or both!
You don't even have to RSVP, though we hope you will for a couple of reasons. First, it makes our jobs easier, logistics-wise. Second (and more importantly), anyone who RSVPs via this website gets to be an official Gamesquall Guest of Honor! It comes with a title, which you can use to lord over the plebes, so it's clearly worth doing.

Gamesquall!
Starts at noon on December 31st! We'll have all sorts of games on hand, so it'll be fun no matter your gaming tastes! You like board games? Card games? RPGs? Come on down! It's free, it's fun, and it goes 'til the wee hours!

RULES
Rule One: Don't be a jerk
"Don't be a jerk" means that you shouldn't do things that make other people feel bad or uncomfortable. It covers stuff like:
- Show good sportsmanship. You can't win 'em all, so you may as well take defeat in stride.
- Don't damage the games. If you do, please tell an organizer right away so that we can put it on our replacement list.
- Maintain good hygiene. At a minimum, shower, brush your teeth, and wear clean clothes. If you're stinky, you can be stinky somewhere else.
- Don't say or do racist or sexist or otherwise uncool things (unless you're playing Cards against Humanity).
- Et cetera.
Rule Two: Don't be an idiot
"Don't be an idiot" means that you shouldn't do things that display your lack of common sense and/or forethought. It covers stuff like:
- Don't ruin or lose game components. Sometimes accidents happen, but a surprising number of "accidents" are really "negligence."
- Don't do anything that might mess up the building or its contents. We want to be able to continue holding Gamesquall, and we can't do that if nobody wants to let us use their facilities.
- Don't claim ignorance of these rules. You're reading them now, after all, so you don't really have an excuse.
- Et cetera.
POLICIES
Alcohol
The Odd Fellows Lodge is an alcohol-free zone; no alcohol is allowed within the building. However, several providers of alcoholic beverages may be found within a short walk of the venue.
Children
- Children ages 10 and under must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times. If a child age 10 or under is found unsupervised, both the child and responsible adult may be ejected from the event.
- Children ages 14 and under must have a responsible adult at the event at all times.
- Children ages 15 and up may attend the event unsupervised.
Food
Bring your own, or bring extra to share! Utensils, plates, etc. are available at the venue. Soda will also be available for purchase, but it's okay if you want to bring your own instead.
Privacy
Be aware that photographs, video and audio recordings may occur during Gamesquall events, and your likeness may appear in these recordings. By attending, you agree to assign without compensation the use of your likeness for use in promotional material and the like. We also welcome members of the press, so don't be surprised if you find yourself on television or the front page of a newspaper or something.
Sales of Merchandise
The offering for sale of any merchandise may occur only in designated areas and with the permission of Gamesquall.
Smoking
No smoking is allowed in the building or within twenty-five feet of the doorway. This includes e-cigarettes and vape pens. You're welcome to smoke in the parking lot, but please clean up after yourself.
